How You Can Help

Thank you for taking time to learn about our wonderful school and how you can help us.  As a small nonprofit organization, Archway Academy operates on a very tight budget.  There are many ways that you can help us make our dollars go further.  Please look over the list below.  Perhaps you will find something that is within your power to give, be it time, in-kind, or monetary.  You may know of someone else who has the ability to make a similar donation.  Or, the list may spark an idea in you that we haven't even thought of yet!

Here are some of the ways that you can help:

FINANCIAL Gifts

Only 34% of Archway Academy's income comes from school fees; Archway relies upon the generosity of donors for the remaining 66%.  Last semester, we saw the average number of students receiving full or partial financial assistance rise from 33% to 50%, an upward trend that we anticipate will continue.  Of our financial donors, individuals were our greatest resource in 2008.  As corporations and foundations are tightening their belts, we realize that our reliance upon individual donations, no matter how small, will only become greater.  The irony of tough economic times is that, just when funding is the hardest to get, is exactly when it is needed the most!

Tax deductible donations can be made to Archway Academy by credit card, check, or stock transfer.  For easy-to-follow directions, click here.  Or call Brooke Webster directly at 713.328.0780.  To learn about how your financial donation will impact Archway students, click here.

Gifts of TIME

A gift of time is always precious, and our volunteers are equally as important to Archway's ability to function smoothly as our donors.  Archway Academy places great value on the number of hours that our volunteer Board of Directors spends reviewing financial aid applications, creating budgets, supporting our essential fundraising activities and offering leadership and guidance when needed.

Archway is also blessed with enthusiastic parent volunteers who provide snacks for special school events like Open House, Teacher Appreciation Day, and Graduation Reception.  Each year Archway has been fortunate to have a "School Mom" take on the role of Parent Volunteer Coordinator and New Family Greeter, to make every new student feel welcome and offer every family a chance to become involved in school activities.

Due to the confidentiality of our records, we are unable to employ volunteers for every day office tasks.  However, Archway sends large mailings several times a year, when the help of volunteers is needed for stuffing envelopes.

Archway Academy's major fundraising event typically takes place in October, and there are many volunteer opportunities during both the preparation for, and execution of, the event itself to ensure that it is a success.

The Archway staff are always on the look-out for interesting things to do with the students during Friday Fill-up.  If you have a skill that you feel might benefit our student population, a hobby that you would like to share or demonstrate, or a place of business that would allow our students to take a tour, please let us know.

If any of these volunteer opportunities interest you, or if you would like to be put on a Volunteer List in case an unforeseen opportunity arises, please call the Archway staff directly at 713.328.0780.
